Mark Morrow Obituary

Mark Karl Morrow
The Morrow Family is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Mark Karl Morrow on September 2, 2021.
He was born in Stuttgart, Germany, July 20, 1964. At 4 years old he moved to the US with his mother, Ursula Morrow, attending Danbury schools and graduating from Canterbury School in 1982. Always curious and mechanically inclined, Mark was excited to disassemble and reassemble whatever he could. He received his first big project on his 14th birthday: a non-operational Austin Healy Sprite, which he spent several high school years making race-ready.
In college, his fascination with the mechanical world continued. He studied Aviation Management at the Florida Institute of Technology and received his pilot's license. Thereafter, he moved to Germany to work for Lufthansa. While living in Germany, he met his wife, Dunja Morrow, and they married two years later in Danbury (1989). Mark made his family a priority, and shared his love for aviation with his family, excitedly detailing everything about the trips he took. At 49 he returned to school to fulfill one of his lifelong goals to become a certified aircraft maintenance technician. After his certification, he began teaching part-time at the same school while flying professionally.
Mark was humorous, clever, and always shared his love of nature and flying with everyone and anyone. From his awe of the mountains to the small deer that passed through his backyard, his appreciation for life was boundless. Mark was a dedicated and loving father, husband, and son. He was known for his enthusiastic spirit and will be fondly remembered by so many for his helpfulness and his readiness to lend a hand at a moment's notice. He will be sorely missed.
Mark is survived by the Morrow family including his wife Dunja, mother Ursula, children Megan and Michael, siblings Scott (Kathy), Holly (Jim), Jessica, Lisa (Ken), Donna (Jim), as well as Martin Illenseher. There will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Mark Karl Morrow Scholarship, which will support budding aviation enthusiasts as they learn the essential skills of aircraft maintenance at the school Mark studied and taught at. Contributions can be made in the form of a check to the school:

Dunja and family, I am so saddened to hear of Mark's death. My heart goes out to all of you and I wish you the best in this unbelievable time. I will always remember the good times and hard work we shared installing the alarm systems at Sonitol, working on his beloved Sprite in the garage and every other gadget he invented or made by hand. I remembering all the animals the both of you rescued when you were living in the cabin and cared for during all hours of the night for months, only to released back to woods. He was truly a good human man and example for us all to admire. His love for his German heritage, the list goes on! His love for his family is never ending, he will always be with you and the kids! God speed to you brother, love ya.
I'll end this with an old Irish Blessing. "May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the Sun shine warm upon your face; the rain fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand"

Still unable to find the right words.
My dear brother, you left too early. We shared our passions between the continents.
You had the sky, I have the sea
The family will always love you and never forget you.
Miss you Bro...

We remember Mark from the days when Mike was a provisional at Camp Sequassen with BSA Troop 10. Our family enjoyed the friendship that Mike & Ben developed at camp and we were so proud to attend Mike's Court of Honor, in which Mark was so involved, and to have your family present at Ben's. Mark was a wonderful dad. We could always feel the love in your family. We are in mourning with you, Dunja and Mike. Much love to you and Megan in these challenging days.
