Megan Dunleavy Obituary

Dunleavy, Megan Lynn.
Megan Lynn Dunleavy, of Oneonta, NY and Redding, CT, died suddenly on October 11th, 2013 in Monticello, NY.
Born in Bay Shore, NY, July 5th, 1992, Megan was the beloved daughter of Brian Dunleavy, Barbara Stevenson, and her stepfather John Stevenson; adored sister of Jack Stevenson; and cherished granddaughter of Susan Elliott and the late Frank Elliott, Harry and Dale Dunleavy, and Anne and Wayne Stevenson.
Megan touched the lives of many in the communities where she lived-Redding, Oneonta, and Long Island. She was known to all to be loving, kind, compassionate, and fun; a deeply devoted friend, an exceptional student, and a gifted musician.
She loved science and was a senior at Hartwick College and a Biochemistry major. While there she also studied abroad and did humanitarian work in London, Paris, Peru, and South Africa. While in high school at Joel Barlow in Redding, CT, she sang in the select choir and performed original songs in local coffee shops.
There will be a wake for Megan at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, CT on Tuesday, October 15th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at the Oakwood Cemetery at 3 Moffitt Boulevard, Bay Shore, NY at 1:00 pm.
Megan lived a joyful life and loved everything that she did. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious; when you were around her you couldn't help but be happy. Megan will be missed by her large extended family and many friends.

Deepest sympathy to your family. We were there and talked to her early in the evening. She was happy, and very helpful with information. Such a beautiful smile. A tragic loss for the world. But an angel now, Peace and Love from our family.
