Mildred Ivancso Obituary

Mildred F. Ivancso Mildred F. "Millie" Ivancso, age 67 of Danbury, died at her home Monday following a short illness. She was the wife of John P. Ivancso. Millie was born August 4, 1941 in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of the late John O. and Mildred G. (Layne) Herter. A resident of Danbury since 1948, she was a graduate of Danbury High School. Millie was employed for many years as a nurse's aide at Danbury Hospital, and later employed as an administrative assistant with Health Plan Administrators of Danbury. In later years, Millie was always devoted in taking an active role as a wife and mother. She loved planning trips throughout the country that she and John could enjoy together. She was a grandmother (Mam-a) who completely immersed herself in the lives of her two grandchildren teaching them about life, love and happiness. Millie was an extremely loving person who cared for anyone who entered her life. Be it friends or family, her door was always open to chat with the "Mil." You could always expect an honest opinion with a laugh. She will be sadly missed by all. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Danbury. In addition to her husband John, Millie is survived by two sons, John A. Ivancso of Danbury and Robert J. Ivancso and his wife, Vanessa of Danbury; one brother, John Herter of New Fairfield; one sister, Deborah Herter of Newtown; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Robert Ivancso; special niece, Lisa Flynn of Danbury; as well as several additional nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 12th at St. Joseph Church, Danbury at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. The family will receive friends in the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury Thursday from 5 thru 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to Regional Hospice of Western CT, 405 Main Street, Danbury CT 06810, Healing Hearts Child Bereavement Center, 73 Stadley Rough Road, Danbury CT 06811, or to Ann's Place Cancer Support Services, 39 Old Ridgebury Road, P-4 Suite 17, Danbury, CT 06811.

I am my Mam-a's granddaughter. My Mam-a was the most wonderful person in the entire world. She always knew the answer to everthing and always said "This to shall pass." She always spoke what she thought, and even though she was sick, she still did it. I will never forget the wonderful, exciting and fun times we had together. My brother Robert, misses many things, he is only six and went to her for everything. He told me he misses eating lunch (corndog) and her big hugs. We all miss her but now she is not suffering. All the times that I had with my grandma is in my thoughts now and I will always remember her as she was before the sickness. I still love her as I did when she was alive. Her love is still her with all of us even though shes not here. Thank You everyone for your thoughts and concerns. It means alot to me knowing my Mam-a meant so much to all of you. Now That I look back, I relize how much she helped friends, family, and people she has just met in the store. All the little things that she has done in her life all build up to one big story that she has told me, such as breaking her arm when she was four. With these little stories, it builds up a big story that we can tell our grandkids and people who want to know. These are just little things that can make up happy! Lets think about all the good times!
