Neils Johnson Obituary
Neils Wayne Johnson age 71, of New Milford, died suddenly on Thursday May 13, 2021. Neils was born March 12, 1950 in New Milford a son of the late Eric H. And Frances (Cole) Johnson SR. While attending New Milford High School, Neils was drafted into the U.S. Army and served four years in Alaska during the Vietnam War. Neils worked for Waters Construction, in New Milford for many years, but his passion was farming. Much of Neils' time was spent caring for cattle, cutting and harvesting hay on the Wasniewski Farm in New Milford. Neils was active in the Eric Sloane Museum in Kent, CT, a member of the National Rifle Association and an avid hunter. Neils and some of his friends founded the local chapter of "ROMEO" retired old men eating out, seen every morning at a local restaurant.
Neils is survived by two sons: George W. Johnson and his life partner Tricia and Matthew Johnson, his brother Eric (Rick) H. Johnson Jr and his wife Janine and his sister Vivian Baldwig. Neils also leaves behind four grandchildren: Ashley Johnson, Chris Johnson, Cody Wilson and Izabella Johnson with whom he lived and had a very special relationship and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Odd Fellows Hall 25 Danbury RD, New Milford, on Sunday June 27 from 12 noon until 5:00 PM

Neils, may you Rest In Peace. As a life long friend and fellow classmate of the Class of 69´ Neils will be greatly missed! With us, he left many with a great deal of fond memories I pray that we remember those and hold them close to our hearts! We are at a loss of words, but would like to offer his family and loved ones our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. Neils will forever be always be in our hearts. Until we meet again my friend.
