Nifa "Nitsa" Kaplanis
Nifa "Nitsa" Kaplanis of Danbury passed away February 24, 2026 at Danbury Hospital. She was 94 years old. The Rite of Burial will take place February 28, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. (today) in the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church 30 Clapboard Ridge Rd., Danbury Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.

I remember Nitsa very well. One of my mom´s (Diamond) friends. I remember her from church as well. She was a very sweet woman and very much a lady. Very few remain of that wonderful era of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Danbury. To the family; I´m so sorry for this loss. Losing a mother is one of the most difficult losses you suffer in life.
