Richard Cooke Sr.
1939 - 2025
Richard Edward Cooke Sr. of Sandy Hook, CT, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born in June 1939, in Worcester, MA, son of the late Harold and Arlene (Whitcomb) Cooke. Richard honorably served in the U.S. Navy. He was married to the love of his life, Gail Elizabeth Stowell. Richard was a printer and plate maker for most of his career.
Richard is survived by his children, Debra Myers, Daniel Cooke and Douglas Cooke; his 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Gail; his three children, David Cooke, Darlene Mantz and Richard Cooke Jr.; and one great-grandchild.
Richard shared the last 20 years of his life with Connie Marino. Together they have many fond memories and she was with him in his final moments.
A celebration of life service and burial of ashes will be celebrated at a later date. Danbury Memorial Funeral Home (117 South Street) assisted the family with arrangements. To send the family condolence, please visit www.danburymemorial.com .

My condolences to you all. Mr.Cooke was a wonderful man, was always a pleasure running into him at the VFW and watching him and my dad playing pool. RIP cookie
