Robert Law Obituary

Robert A. Law Jr., age 69 of Ridgefield, husband of Susan (Grossa) Law, died at his home on Thursday afternoon, October 28, 2010. Mr. Law was born in Pontiac, Mich., March 14, 1941, son of Robert A. and Marguerite (Beyer) Law. Raised in Royal Oak, Mich., he attended Royal Oak schools and graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Business Science. A retired business executive with Pitney-Bowes, Mr. Law was a holder of nine patents. Coming from Miami, Florida in 1974 to Ridgefield, Mr. Law was a former member of the Ridgefield Jaycees, a member of the Board of Directors of the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ridge-field Historical Society. He also served as the town's genealogist, was a coach of the Ridgefield Soccer Club and Little League, and was a former Scout Master of Troop 116. In addition to genealogy, amongst Mr. Law's hobbies and interests were stamp and coin collecting as well as travel. He was a member of St. Mary Church, Ridgefield and served as an usher. In addition to his wife, Susan of 44 years, Mr. Law is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Kell and her husband, U. S. Air Force Major Paul Kell of Durham, NH; two sons, U.S. Army Lt. Col. Robert A. Law III and his wife, Sandy of Fort Irwin, CA and Rick Law and his wife, Amy of Timonium, MD; a sister, Mary Ellen Redman of Sterling Heights, MI and nine grandchildren, Robert IV, Nicholas, Matthew, Thomas, Sarah, John, Annika, Kevin and Charlie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Ridgefield with Msgr. Laurence Bronkiewicz officiating. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Contributions to either the Ridgefield Historical Society, 4 Sunset Lane, Ridgefield, CT 06877 or The Visiting Nurse Association, 90 East Ridge Rd., Ridgefield, CT 06877 would be appreciated.
