William DePra Obituary
William J. DePra of New Milford, CT, died peacefully Tuesday November 4, 2014 in Danbury Hospital. He was 86.
He was born March 4, 1928 in Greenwich, CT, son of the late Valentino and Ella (Bako) DePra. Mr. DePra served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired from the Greenwich, CT, Police Department as Detective ater 29 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #31 in New Milford.
Mr. DePra was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Donnelly) in 2009. He is survived by his daughter Deborah A. Yantorno of Brookfield, CT, his grandchildren Melissa, Laurie, Nathan, Chad; great grandchildren Brandon, Asia, Christian, Cailan, Aaliyah and Tucker; and his sisters Margaret Valenti of Greenwich, CT and Bernice Carroll of Riverside, CT. He was also predeceased by five siblings.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday November 6, 2014, 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford, CT. Internment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery in New Milford.
In Lieu of flowers , contributions in his memory may be made to the American Legion Ezra Woods Post #31, 377 Kent Rd., New Milford, CT 06776.

Bill will be sorely missed by all at the New Milford Senior Center. He had a big heart and was always making people laugh right to the end. The last day I saw him someone asked how he felt - he quickly answered "Well, if you really want to know the truth - with my hands". He was a great person. Rest in peace Bill. You've left a void in our hearts.

I only met Bill a couple times in New Milford when with Dad Kindilien (Bernie) at the Legion post. He seemed like a nice man. One thing I know is that my father-in-law, Bernie Kindilien, since moving to Florida, looked forward each Sunday evening to Bill's call and he will miss Bill terribly. Our sympathies are with the family and friends like Dad Kindilien.
