Beatrice "Bea" ( Marenda) Verucchi, 98, of Spring Valley, Illinois passed away peacefully on November 19, 2022.
Please join Bea's family in celebrating her life with the funeral Mass of Christian burial, beginning at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 23, at Nativity of Our Lord Parish (St. Anthony Church), 510 Richard A. Mautino Drive in Spring Valley. The Rev. Scott Potthoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Bea will be held on Tuesday, November 22, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Spring Valley, with additional visitation, also held at the church, from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services, on Wednesday. The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to assist Bea's family at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Perfectly Flawed Foundation and Horizon House.
Bea was born on January 8, 1924, the daughter of Cecilia and Ignatius Marenda. She graduated from Hall High School, and married Arthur (Buzzy) Verucchi on Sept. 22, 1945. She and Buzzy owned and operated Verucchi's Ristorante.
Everyone who knew Bea was aware she built her life around her family and their restaurant. Bea was strongly grounded in her faith and was an active member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Spring Valley. Most importantly she was a loving and selfless wife, mother, and grandmother. Loved by all who knew her, with her warm smile, generous spirit, kind heart, and love and special prayers, she left an impression on everyone.
She will lovingly be remembered by her children, Dick (Dawn) Verucchi of Peru, Barb DeAngelo of Spring Valley, Mary (Frank) Heuser of Spring Valley, Paula (Mark) Tomsha of Peru, Tricia (Jerry) Carls of Spring Valley, Tom (Jenelle) Verucchi of Huntington Beach, California, Beth (Bruce) Yerly of Spring Valley, Arthur (Annette) Verucchi of Spring Valley, and Joanie (Brad) Crump of Verona, Wisconsin; her 33 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her grandson, Marco Verucchi; son, Jack Verucchi; husband, Arthur (Buzzy) Verucchi, son-in-law Jimmy DeAngelo; brothers, Raymond and Leonard Marenda; and sisters, Lorraine Marinangeli and Mary Louise Bernardini.

What a beautiful woman who left a wonderful family legacy. I will always remember her twinkling eyes as I would play my accordion and sing one of her favorite songs "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."
