Died: May 5, 2022 in Mendota, IL
Burdette L. Boers, 83, of rural Standard passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Heritage Health, Mendota.
Memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Chaplain Kent Terry will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel will be assisting the family with the arrangements.
Burdette was born on July 29, 1938 in Spring Valley to Leslie O. and Leona E. (Naumann) Boers. He married Beverly Thompson.
He graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign with a master's degree in mechanical engineering and worked at Argon National Lab. Burdette also farmed.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Standard: son, Brian (Anne) Boers of Geneva, IL; daughter, Sally (David) Sorce of Mesa, Arizona and two grandchildren, Austin (Brittney) Boers and Paige (Jake) Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two uncles, Ed Boers and Bob Boers.
