Carol Ann (Bernardini) Bonnell 78 of Sublette, passed away January 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family
after an extended illness. Visitation will be Tuesday January 10, 2023 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Hall in Sublette
from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a 3:30 rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday January 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Church with the Rev. Randy Fronek officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded after and burial will take place at a later date.
Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family. Carol was born September 23, 1944 in Ottawa to James and Ida (Mooney)
Bernardini, the eldest of three daughters. Carol married Harold Bonnell on February 23, 1963 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ottawa.
They resided in Sublette for 59 years where they raised their four "daughter lovelies".
She graduated from Ottawa Marquette High School and years later furthered her education at Sauk Valley Community College earning
her RN degree. After earning her nursing degree, Carol worked doing what she loved most, taking care of people. She worked at Mendota
Community Hospital, both Mendota Nursing Homes, and KSB Hospital Dixon. During this time, she enhanced her skills by obtaining her EMT
certification, and volunteered on the Sublette Fire Department. Carol was active in St. Anne's Sodality at Our Lady of Perpetual Church, and was
Sublette Fire Belle. Carol loved spending time with all her children and grandchildren. in her spare moments she enjoyed crocheting, knitting,
sewing and reading. The depth of love Harold and Carol shared was reflected in the loving care she received from him in her final months.
Carol will be missed by her husband Harold of Sublette, daughters Leslie (Matt) Motter of LaMoille, Bernadine (Jim) Schielein of Dixon,
Christina (Chris) Becker of Amboy and Jennifer Bonnell of Sublette, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a sister Marsha Bernardi of Streator.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Pamela White. Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice 4106 Veterans Drive Ottawa, Illinois 61350, or the
