Died: August 13, 2022 in Spring Valley, IL
Christine G. (Liesse) Picatto, 65, of Lostant, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at St. Margaret's Health, Spring Valley.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, LaSalle with Rev. J.A. Small officiating. Private burial will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Webster Park at a later date. Visitation will be held 4-6:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home with recital of the Rosary at 6:30 PM. Additional visitation will be held 10:30-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Christine was born June 6, 1957 in LaSalle to James and Diane (Calbri) Liesse. She was a 1975 graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. She received her Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing from Illinois Valley Community College in 1987 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University in 1996.
Christine was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, LaSalle. Her nursing career began in the dietary department at People's Hospital in Peru. She went on to nursing positions at Heritage Healthcare in Peru and Care Inn in LaSalle. She then worked in the ICU at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator, in the cardiac unit at Bromenn Hospital, Normal and lastly in the emergency room at St. Margaret's Health, Spring Valley. Christine also worked in EMS, starting with Utica ambulance, then Peru ambulance and was currently employed by Oglesby ambulance and 10/33 Spring Valley ambulance. She taught EMS programs for the Boy Scouts and taught EMS classes for the Peru Ambulance Service.
Survivors include two children, Jason (Amanda) Picatto of Spring Valley and Melissa (Eric) Walsh of Aurora; five grandchildren, Hannah, Jason Jr. and Dylan Picatto and Calin and Oliver Walsh; four sisters, Mary Jo Harrower of Lostant, Carol (John) Fitzgerald of Lakewood, CO, Jennifer Ellerbrock of Oglesby and Julia (George) Santiago of Palos Hills and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathleen Liesse.
Pallbearers will be Eric and Joshua Harrower, Dominic and Michael Ellerbrock and George and Brandon Santiago.

My condolences to you all . I worked at St Mary's with Chris and always enjoyed her funny side and her nurse side .She was an excellent nurse ! She will be missed by so many .
