Danny "Dan" Sarver
Born: January 25, 1955 in Leland, IL
Died: December 11, 2025 in Mendota, IL
Danny "Dan" Sarver, born on January 25, 1955 in Leland, Illinois, passed away on December 11, 2025 at the age of 70 in Mendota, IL. He was a cherished husband, having been united in marriage on September 30, 1978, to Rebecca "Becky" Schmidt in Compton, IL. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Reba (Jackson) Sarver and father-in-law Donald O. Schmidt.
Dan loved watching his grandchildren at sporting and music events. He also spent much of his time doing the things he loved including fishing and hunting. He had a passion for his cars and had a special appreciation for his AMX. He loved starting his morning school bus route by fist bumping the kids as they stepped onto his bus.
Dan is survived by his wife: Becky Sarver of West Brooklyn; 2 sons: Chris (Samatha) Sarver of Princeton, IL and Chad (Brittney) Sarver of DeKalb, IL; 3 grandchildren: Kyle, Ethan and Taryn Sarver; sister: Peggy Jones of West Brooklyn, IL; mother-in-law: Velma Schmidt of Mendota.
Public visitation will be 3:00-6:00 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 17 at the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota. Funeral service will be Wednesday evening, after the visitation, at 6:30 PM at the Horner Merritt Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Cremation rights will follow the services.
