Darlene M. Stillwell, 89, of Peru, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.
Private graveside services will be held in Peru City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru.
Darlene was born September 12, 1936 in Henry to Oliver E. "Pete" and Lila E. (Trout) Stillwell. She attended Lostant Schools, graduating from Lostant High School. She married Glenn Miller on January 29, 1955 and they later divorced.
Darlene was very passionate about music she played piano most of her life, she gave piano lessons, and played the organ for her church. She had a variety of jobs over the years, including bike delivery through the Westclox factory, Wickes Lumber, Byerly Music, Bergner's, JC Penney and she especially loved her job at Home Instead and all the people she cared for. Darlene attended the Utica Baptist Church, played their organ for services, and was involved in their bible study. She also enjoyed reading, puzzles, and playing cards with friends.
Survivors include her son, Robert "Bob" (Lisa) Miller of Peru; grandsons, Steve Miller of LaSalle and Marc (Christina) Miller of Connecticut; and great-grandchildren, Yarrow and Banyan. Also surviving is her sister, Donna Baker of Tennessee and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Delbert, Tom, and Steve Stillwell.
