Died: February 21, 2024 in Ottawa, Illinois
David T. Mix, 61, of Ottawa passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Ottawa.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Dysart – Cofoid Funeral Chapel, 208 S. McCoy St. Granville, IL 61326.
Additional visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville. John Mix will officiate. Burial will be in Granville Cemetery.
David was born on June 4, 1962 in Spring Valley at St. Margaret's Hospital to Robert "Tom" and Valda Pauline (Snow) Mix. He married Mary Jane C. Mix on October 21, 1988.
He graduated from Putnam County High School. David was a welder and laborer for 28 years at Mitsubushi Motors in Bloomington. He always put his family first. He loved playing poker and fishing and he belonged to a cigar club.
He is survived by four sons, Michael (Darby) Mix, Matthew (Jennifer) Mix, Mark Mix and Jack (Annessa) Parisi; one daughter, Christy (Greg) Dickerson; two brothers, John (Sara) Mix and Jim (Kathy) Mix; one sister-in-law, Joyce Mix; six grandchildren, Christina, Colton, Braxton, Joey, Ashton and Avery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Jane, one daughter, Darlene, one brother, Bill and one grandson, Michael.
Pallbearers will be Michael Mix, Matthew Mix, Mark Mix, Jack Parisi, Logan Mix, Jim Mix and John Mix.
