Francis G. Hahn, 82 of Mendota formally of West Brooklyn passed away November 29,2025 at St. Anthony's Medical Center Rockford. Visitation will be Friday, December 5 from 8:30am until 10:30am in Wasmer Funeral Home with services beginning at 10:30. Rev. Joseph Domfe will officiate, and burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery West Brooklyn. Fran was born October 20,1943 in Mendota to LeRoy and Catherine (Bulfer) Hahn. He graduated Mendota High School in 1961. Fran married the love of his life, Delores Mathesius on August 25,1962 at Holy Cross Church in Mendota. Together, they made their home in West Brooklyn, where they began a beautiful life and were blessed with four children. A lifelong farmer, Francis dedicated himself to working the land with passion and perseverance. After many successful years in agriculture, he transitioned into a new chapter serving the local farming community, culminating in a celebrated retirement from Grain Co FS in Mendota.
Francis cherished time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His happiest days were spent on Hahn Farms, surrounded by family and the land he loved. Known for his sharp wit and love of Euchre, he brought laughter and camaraderie wherever he went.
Above all, Francis was a kind and generous soul-always ready to lend a hand or offer the red shirt off his back. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Fran is survived by his children: Martin of Onarga, Robert of West Brooklyn, Michelle (Jeff) Haub of Sublette, 5 grandchildren: Amanda (Sue) Monreal, Jason (Stephanie) Haub, Britney (Andrew) Pizano, Taylor Hahn, Jacob Hahn, and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores 9/17/2015, daughter Melissa 12/6/64, and 6 sisters: Joanne Chamness, Virginia Schnell, Roberta Faber, Marian Boland, Carol Robinson and Bonnie Sornberger. Pallbearers will be Jason and Jeff Haub, Jake, Martin and Bob Hahn, and Andrew Pizano. Memorials may be directed to Donor's Choice. Condolences may be left at
