Jacklyn J. "Jackie" (Argubright) Peterlin, 87, of Oglesby passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.
A prayer service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home, Oglesby followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church, Oglesby with Rev. Paul Carlson, pastor officiating. Burial to follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery, LaSalle. Visitation will be held 3-6:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home with recital of the rosary at 2:45 PM. Additional visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM, Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Peterlin was born January 11, 1935 in Oglesby to Edward and Heraldine (Tobler) Argubright. She was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School, Class of 1952. She married Adolph "Poonie" Peterlin, Jr. on August 8, 1953 at Holy Family Church, Oglesby. He passed away November 1, 1996.
Together, with her husband, they owned and operated the Oglesby Shopper/Town Crier newspaper. Later she worked as a bookkeeper at Indiana General, was an office worker at Badge-A-Minit and was a clerk at the DMV Secretary of State office. Her passion was painting ceramics. Her greatest joy was her family, hosting family events and spending time with friends, especially Catherine Gregorich and Pat Gatza.
She is survived by a daughter, Terri Essl of Oglesby; a son, Steve Peterlin of Oglesby; three grandchildren, Jimmy (Cassie) Essl, Jack Essl and Amanda Peterlin; two sisters, Pat McCollum of Oglesby and Sue (Dennis) Harding of Oglesby; brother-in-law Gary (Lana) Peterlin of Oglesby and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Michael in infancy; two sisters, Kathy Huffman and Marilyn Blender; two brothers, James and Mike Argubright; in-laws, Adolph and Irene Peterlin; a sister-in-law, Shirley (George) Basil and a brother-in-law, Ron (Barbara) Peterlin.
Pallbearers will be her three grandchildren and seven godchildren, Bob Peterlin, Dennis Basil, Drew Jessen, Shelly Wiebel, Cathy Hutchins, Paula Adamski and Gerri Lynn Pearse.
