Janet Farley Obituary

Janet Susan Farley
Born: November 16, 1949 in Spring Valley, IL
Died: February 26, 2022 in Peru, IL
Janet Susan (Vickery) Farley, 72, of Peru, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at her home after a long-fought battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru with Rev. Gregory Jarzombek, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery, LaSalle. Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Janet was born November 16, 1949 in Spring Valley to Earl Sr. and Susan (Marinangeli) Vickery. She married Daniel R. Farley on February 7, 1991.
Growing up in the late 60's and early 70's, Janet spent time traveling throughout the United States. She loved music and was a huge fan of the Byrds, especially their song "Turn, Turn, Turn". For a few years she worked with her friend, Judy Green for the concert promoter, Barry Fey in Denver, Colorado. Together, they worked at concerts ranging from George Harrison and ZZ Top to Lynard Skynard. By the 1980's, she worked in Bloomington at Country Companies Insurance Company and was able to retire a few years ago.
Janet loved taking care of her family and dedicated herself to ensuring they were always comfortable, often at her own expense. She spent countless hours taking care of her husband, Daniel after his condition with Agent Orange progressed and he could no longer take care of himself. It was with a great sense of duty that she lovingly cared for her husband throughout his final days.
Janet loved spending time with her family and watching her younger nieces and nephews Jimmy, Jessica and Johnny grow. It was with great pride that she looked towards a growing family and the chance to be with the people she loved. With numerous friends throughout her life, she was comforted in good times and bad. Her final days were spent being cared for and she will be remembered throughout our lives.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Cepheus "Ceph" Edmondson and Ioana Teodorescu of Chicago; her beloved siblings, Carol, Craig and Holis Vickery and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel on June 3, 2016; one brother, Earl Vickery Jr. and two sisters, Sharon and Gail.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

I am just hearing of Jan's passing. My sympathies to her friends and family, especially Ceph. I last ran into Janet on 12/1/2019 at the Pub, it was a fun night, I was happy to see her. I will cherish that memory. Rest in Peace, my friend.

Jan was a wonderful person and sister in law. She will be missed. She took great care of my brother Dan in his final years. I will always be thankful for that. May they both rest in peace,
together again.
