Joy Ann Hattan, 47, of Washburn, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, 8:20 pm following an auto accident.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of her life will be held later this summer. Memorials may be directed to the Hattan Family Fund % Washburn Community Bank. Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Washburn is in charge of arrangements.
Joy was born November 7, 1974, in Peru, IL to John and Mary Beattie. She married Tom Johnson in 1998. They were later divorced. She later married Dennis Hattan in 2009. He survives in Washburn.
Also surviving are her children, Evan Johnson, Linnea Kress, and Matthew Hattan, all of Washburn, her stepchildren, Aaron Johnson, of Bloomington, Alex Johnson of Greensborough, NC, and Joe Hattan, of Springfield, her siblings, Amy (Leroy) Heinzeroth and Scott (Valerie) Beattie, both of La Mollie, a sister-in-law, Debra (Dan) Barth, of Washburn, along with many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Joy was employed at Ajinomoto-Windsor Foods, Toluca for many years. She had also served as Washburn City Clerk.
Joy loved basketball, being part of her community and helping with the Washburn Fire Department.
Her family and friends were especially important to her. She will be missed by many.
