Kathleen Boers, 81, of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Cremation will be accorded, and a graveside service will be held at Peru City Cemetery on Tuesday, May 20th, at 1:30 PM.
The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to be assisting Kathleen's family.
Kathleen was born on June 25, 1943 in Chicago to William and Lillian (Svancara) Krabec. She married Dennis Boers on June 3, 1989 in Peru.
She was a graduate of nursing school at Mt. Sinai in Chicago and had worked for various nursing homes throughout the years, as well as the former St. Mary's Hospital in LaSalle and Care Inn Nursing Home in Peru. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the library. Her and Dennis also enjoyed many camping trips together.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis, of Peru; her daughters, Susan (Joseph) Wolf of Kings, IL and Sharon (Jim) Mattox of Bethlehem, PA; her five grandchildren, Rachel, Andrew, Clayton, Sarah, and Courtney; and her three great grandchildren, Mia, Brody, and Declan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
