Margaret Janet Kennedy, 103, of Standard, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Liberty Village Manor Court of Princeton.
The funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will begin at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Nativity of Our Lord Parish (St. Anthony Church) in Spring Valley. Rev. Ron Margherio O.S.B. will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Margaret will be held at the church, from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services on Tuesday. The Barto Funeral Home in Spring Valley is honored to be assisting the family.
She was born on February 29, 1920 in Spring Valley to John and Margaret (Bartolini) Margherio. She was first married to Stanley Brussock and then later married Robert Kennedy. They both preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Spring Valley. She loved playing with all of her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking. She was always busy baking, especially Christmas cookies. She also collected Fenton figurines and Westmoreland milk glass.
Margaret is survived by her son, Richard (Karen) Brussock, of Granville; her grandson, Richard (Tammy) Cavaletto of Oglesby and her granddaughter, Dawn (Wally) Hamlin of Bonita Springs, FL; her sister, Shirley (Joe) Ellena of Standard; her great grandchildren, Hailey and Alex Hamlin and Ryan and Jeremy Cavaletto; her great great grandchildren, Crew and Rhett Zellner; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Judith Cavaletto; her granddaughter, Lynn Piotrowski Cavaletto; two brothers, John and Matthew Margherio; and two sisters, Valeria Riley and Irene Rhode.
