Died: November 10, 2025 in Mendota, IL
Patricia Ann Frey, age 65, of Mendota, passed away on November 10, 2025, at Allure in Mendota, surrounded by her loving family. She departed peacefully, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. until the service at 12 p.m., at Wasmer Funeral Home. Father Greg Nelson will officiate, and the burial of her ashes will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded. Patty was born on September 1, 1960, in Mendota to Harry A. and Marguerite (Spitz) Clark. She married Ralph Frey, the love of her life, on December 27, 1977. Throughout her career, she dedicated 20 years to the bindery at Wayside Press, followed by another 20 years in assembly at Plano Molding. Patty will be forever missed by her children, Christopher Frey of Mendota, William (Dana) Frey of Granville, and Michelle Wickstrom of Mendota. She is also survived by her two grandsons, Alexander Wickstrom and Nolan Frey; three brothers, John (Kathleen) Clark of Mendota, George (Joleen) Clark of Plainfield, and Wayne (Dawn) Clark of Mendota; one sister, Helen (James) Setz of Waterloo, WI; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph (who passed on June 1, 2021), and her granddaughter Lucy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Illinois Valley Animal Rescue (IVAR). Condolences can be left at wasmerfuneralhome.com. Patty's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family will always be remembered.
