Patricia L. (Hawkins) Trench, 90, of La Salle, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at JPO Retirement Home in Dalzell.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church, La Salle with Rev. Thomas Otto, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery, La Salle. Visitation will be 9-11:00 AM Thursday, concluding with services provided by the Illinois Valley Nurse Honor Guard.
Mrs. Trench was born on July 10, 1935 in Spring Valley to Charles Seth and Martha (Hoffert) Hawkins. She graduated from Hall High School and the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Margaret's Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, and Illinois Valley Community Hospital during her career. She married James F. Trench on October 27, 1956 in Chillicothe. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2003. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in La Salle and was a member of the Women of St. Patrick's.
Mrs. Trench is survived by two sons, Michael (Colleen) Trench of La Salle and Terry (Manessa) Trench of La Salle; and two daughters, Patricia (Scott) Schafer of Springfield and Erin (Burton) Lavens of Oglesby. Also surviving are five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Trench was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Seth Hawkins Jr. and Duane Hawkins; and her sister, Karma Carruthers.
