Died: July 25, 2022 in Mendota, IL
Robert G. Criss, 83, of Mendota, passed away July 25, 2022 in his home.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4-6 p.m. in the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Robert was born April 4, 1939 in Joliet to George and Mary (Manning) Criss. He married Sandra Sharp.
Bob graduated from Danville High School with the class of 1957 and attended Danville Junior College. He received his bachelors degree in 1966 from Illinois State University followed by his master's degree in school psychology in 1967. His post graduate studies were taken at Northern Illinois University. Bob taught at Potomac Grade School. He was the school psychologist in Mendota and other area schools. He love traveling with his wife Sandy, especially on cruises. He was an avid Chicago sports fan including the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. Bob always looked forward to talking to his grandson Ryne on the phone frequently.
He is survived by his his wife of Mendota; his son Deric (Kerry Johnson) of Chicago; his daughter in law Dena Criss of Marion; his sister Georgia Faga and his grandson Robert Ryne Criss.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Martha, Daisy, Marian, Lucille and Beverly, a brother Bruce, and his sons Robert, Jeffrey and Bradley.

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I taught special education at Northbrook School while Bob was the school psychologist there. We worked together many years. Many memories, he was always kind to me.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Bob was such a good, kind, and caring mangone too soon. He was such a great friend to my parents and I remember him so fondly.
