Died: April 21, 2022 in LaSalle, IL
Sam Scacciferro, 101, of LaSalle, passed away Thursday April 21, 2022 peacefully at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Queen of the Rosary Church in LaSalle with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial to follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery, LaSalle with full military rites conducted by the LaSalle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be held 10:00 to 10:50 AM Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle.
Sam was born March 1, 1921 in LaSalle to John and Mary (Maggio) Scacciferro. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, stationed stateside in Washington D.C. He married A. Dorothy Miklavcic on June 23, 1951. She passed away June 21, 2016.
Sam was an avid gardener. He enjoyed hiking and walking, going for coffee with friends and attending church.
He is survived by his children, Jill (Gale Stoffregen) Mauritzen, Sue (John) Walters, Karen Scacciferro and Gregg Scacciferro; six grandchildren, Jason Walters, Nick Walters, Luke Walters, Ashley Noonan, Amy Mauritzen and Claire Byron and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and a son, Thomas.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Horizon House.
