Sharon Pyszka Obituary

Sharon Pyszka
Born: June 27, 1956
Died: January 20, 2022
Sharon Elizabeth Pyszka, 65, passed away January 20, 2022 unexpectedly at her home in Spring Valley, IL. The funeral Mass of Christian burial for Sharon will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Nativity of Our Lord Parish (St. Anthony Church) in Spring Valley. The Rev. Scott Potthoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Spring Valley. Visitation for Sharon will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of funeral services, Wednesday, at the church. The family asks that masks be worn during the service. The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to be assisting the family at this time.
Sharon was born in Lasalle-Peru, IL on June 27, 1956, to Elizabeth and Joseph DiCarlo. She graduated from Lasalle-Peru Township High School in 1974 and married her high school sweetheart Joseph (Joe) Pyszka on June 9, 1979 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaSalle. After graduating college in Milwaukee, WI Sharon began her career at Walmart. She worked at Walmart for over 30 years primarily as Customer Service Manager. Sharon made lifelong friends during her years at Walmart, and particularly enjoyed visiting and talking with shoppers.
In 1982 Sharon and Joe welcomed their first daughter Lisa and ten years later they had their second daughter Elizabeth (Liz). The family spent time together enjoying outdoor activities and traveling. Sharon loved attending her daughters' school activities and Liz's dance competitions. They also looked forward to shopping and joining yearly Christmas walks together.
Sharon and Joe were very excited to welcome their first grandchild, Allison, in 2012. Allison was born in Midland, MI and Sharon and Joe were happy to frequently make the drive together to visit their new grandbaby. Her second grandchild, Michael, was born in 2015. Sharon and Joe loved traveling to see Michael and Allison participate in school and sports activities. Sharon and Joe's second granddaughter, baby Kinley, is due in 2022. Sharon's grandchildren were her life; after a long day of playing with the kids, the day would end with movies and popcorn in the living room.
Throughout her life, Sharon enjoyed walking, hiking, and traveling with family. On sunny days, she could always be found tending her beautiful flower gardens with her dogs at her side. Her family will remember her for her homecooked meals and her grandma hugs. She had a talent for interior design and capturing all of life's moments with a picture.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Joe; two children, Lisa (Michael) Weberski and Liz (Austin) Kinley; three grandchildren, Allison, Michael, and Baby Kinley; one sister, Deborah (Robert) Steinkamp; two brothers, Joseph (Laura) and John DiCarlo; two brothers-in-law, Michael and James (Molly) Pyszka; one sister-in-law, Karen (Mark) Szymski and over 40 nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and cousins.

I worked with Sharon at Walmart from 1991 to 1993. She was always very nice, helpful and fun to work with. What I remember most about Sharon is when I started playing violin with the Illinois Valley Youth Symphony. I needed a black skirt as part of my uniform. I didn’t have one so Sharon lent me one of her skirts until I could get one of my own. I will always remember her that! My deepest condolences to the entire family.

I was so sad to hear about the passing of Sharon. I worked with her at Wal-Mart for many years before her retirement. She was such a hard working lady, so kind, always had a smile for you, loved her customers and cashiers. She was and always will be greatly missed. Heaven has another beautiful angel. Please accept my deepest sympathy and may our Lord comfort her family in His loving arms in the coming days.

I was so sad to hear of Sharon’s unexpected passing. I’ve known her since high school, attending Homecomings and Proms together with our close knit group of friends. It was nice to run into Sharon when she was working at Walmart, so we could catch up with one another. Sharon was truly a beautiful person, inside and out. My deepest sympathy to the entire Pyszka family. I pray you are comforted by the remembrance of our Lord’s promises.

I worked alongside Sharon at Wal-Mart a few years ago. She was a gracious human being. Always had a smile. Always happy to see you. She fought off some serious health issues over the years. I felt terribly sad to see
her suffer through it, but she returned to work. She was resilient. My heart goes out to her family. She will be
missed beyond words. Everyone loved her !
