Virginia Speicher Obituary

Virginia Ann Speicher, 77, of Garrett Highway, Oakland, MD, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, MD.

Born on September 1, 1936 at Oakland, MD, she was a daughter of the late Hanson Friend and Ann Louise (Beckman) Kahl. Twice married, she was preceded in death by both husbands, Gorman Lee Thayer and Charles Speicher; two brothers, Donald and Jack Friend and a great grandson, David Michael Bucklew.

Surviving are her children, Deborah Thayer, David Thayer and wife Shirley and Michael Thayer and Melanie Fisher, all of Oakland and Esther Thayer and Eric "Johnny" Evans of Elk Garden, WV; two brothers, David Friend and Joe Friend, both of Oakland; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Sally Bartling officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Interment, at the convenience of the family, will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Oakland, MD.
