To this day, I still cringe when I read an obit for a newborn. Even more so when I know who the parents or grandparents are. In this case, it is both through the industry.

We know all too well of your immediate pain in the loss of your firstborn, a daughter, at Christmastime. Thirteen years ago, our firstborn daughter Madison, was stillborn on Dec. 22 and buried in the baby section of Augusta Cemetery on Christmas Eve. We are so deeply grieving with you from hearts that have walked the same path many years ago. It is a journey no one would choose.

May God give you the strength you will need for the long healing process to follow. May He give you the courage to get through the holidays. May He comfort you and keep you close and together, as that may become an enormous obstacle later on.

The loss of a child is the worst loss anyone could face. As a mother that lost a young child, I know the pain you must feel. The sense of loss never goes away but know that in time, the pain eases. Although we don't know why, God needed your little angel with him. God is with you during this difficult time. Know that you are in my prayers.

Travis and Haley, It is so hard to understand why that sweet little soul didn't stay with us. I know your hearts are aching. Know that the family out West hold you up; asking the Angels to surround you and give you peace and strength to face the days ahead. Alexis will always be with you. I imagine her as a sweet little angel who will watch over you always. And she's got some wonderful souls to welcome her home. Much love to you all.
