Mabel McCauley Obituary

Mabel Davis McCauley, 76 of 102 Jennie Lynn Circle, Lot 107, Crimora passed away Friday evening, December 2, 2005 at St. Luke's Assisted Care Residence.

She was born Jan. 28, 1929 in Augusta County, daughter of the late George E. and Ada Arnold Davis.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was retired from the Waynesboro DuPont Plant with 38 and a half years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion C. McCauley in 1992; one sister, Gladys Potts; four brothers, Woodrow Davis, Richard Davis, Warren Davis and Marvin Davis.

She was the last member of her immediate family. Survivors include five nieces, Brenda Harner and her husband Roger of Crimora, Gloria Balderson and her husband Angelo of Waynesboro, Linda Daughtry and her husband Ronnie of Verona, Roxie Wine and her husband Dan of Waynesboro and Joyce Floyd of Staunton; four nephews, Gary Davis of Waynesboro, Tony Davis and his wife Amber of Waynesboro, Daryl Davis of Waynesboro and Ricky McCauley and his wife Sylvia of Staunton; numerous great nieces and nephews of whom she helped raise Dale Harner, Kemper Harner and Sharon Travis and a great-great niece, Kandi Harner.

A service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. James Pence and Rev. Dan Wine. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Dale Harner, Kemper Harner, Matthew Vance, James Campbell, Victor Shifflett, Terry Kerby, Wayne Hite and Grover Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends 7 to 8 P.M. Monday, Dec. 5, 2005 at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 297 Zion Church Road, Waynesboro, Va., 22980.
