I had the good fortune to work with and get to know Marge in the 1980's. Besides being a consummate artist, she was the loveliest, most generous-spirited, gracious, smart woman, and I feel privileged to have known her. I am so glad that she will live on forever in all of the footage that has her image, talent and grace captured for all of us and for future generations.

In the 1970s, Marge and an actress named Marilee Zdeneck did a series of worship services including dance in Bel Aire Presbyterian Church in CA. The church I attended at the time, First Community in Columbus, OH, invited them to come and create a Pentecost service in 1973, and five of us were invited to dance "The Lord's Prayer" with her in the course of the service. The next day, I was invited to drive out with the minister driving her back to the airport; in the car she said, "You know, you have enough people for a dance choir. You should form one." "What's a dance choir?" I asked. The answer has been working itself out in me, one way and another, ever since.

Sorry to hear of marge´s passing. My mom was Marilyn Hightower & her brother Lewis was marge´s partner at belcher´s and worked as the dancer for Prince Charming in Snow White & the alligator in Fantasia. I met Marge Champion a few years ago when we hosted an event around the documentary, Keep Dancing, in Brooklyn, NY. Many of our Seniors came out to this wonderful event with Marge. She was so gracious to all that day. I will never forget being with her that afternoon. What an amazing human being she was. Now she is dancing among the stars in the heavens!

Have long loved this Dancing Queen. Her musical dances with Gower are some of the best dance scenes to ever come out of Hollywood. One of the last Hollywood greats. RIP Marge.
