William Sommers Keith Jr.

April 28, 1926 - May 14, 2022

William Sommers Keith Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savoir on May 14, 2022. He was born on April 28, 1926, in Afton, Virginia. He was the last living one of his family.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William Keith Sr. and Nora Phillips Keith; his daughter, Darlene Keith Via; and son, Floyd William Keith.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 71 years, Alice Gray Keith; son, Gary Keith of Crimora; daughter, Daphne Harner and husband, Michael, of Lyndhurst; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Billy served his country in World War II and was retired from DuPont. He was the treasurer and long time member of Afton Chapel.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022, from 6 until 8 p.m at McDow Funeral Home in Waynesboro. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Cemetery in Afton, Va. officiated by Pastor Matthew Colvin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockfish Valley Fire Dept. or Afton Chapel in care of Rodney Via.
