Betty Whitt

Waverly Betty F. Whitt, 78, of Waverly, passed away peacefully at 1:47pm November 4, 2025, in Adena Regional Medical Center.

She was born October 20, 1947, in Union Co., OH to the late Edwin and Martha (Jordan) Davis. On August 10, 1972, she married Dirl Bud Whitt, who preceded her in death in 1988.

Surviving are her children: Linda S. (Bill) Lowe, of Waverly, Vernon Whitt, of Londonderry, Paul Whitt, Eustis, FL, and Mary (Chuck) Kempton, of Londonderry; several step-children; grandchildren: Bessie (Joey) Powers, Tiffany (Travis) Abner, Shane Gibbs, Seth Smith and his fiancée Danielle Miller, and Hannah Whitt; several step-grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her home health nurse, Wendy Thacker, who became like family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Eddie Davis and sister Joyce Cotton.

Betty loved her church family and attending New Covenant CCCU of Waverly. She was an avid bingo player, never knew a stranger and will be remembered for her ever-present big smile.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at both Bristol Village Rehab Center and the palliative care team of Adena Regional Medical Center.

Her graveside service will be held at 11am Saturday, Nov. 8, in Londonderry Cemetery with Pastor Melody Wiseman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: New Covenant CCCU, 535 E. 2nd St., Waverly, OH 45690.
