Charles 'Buck' Fletcher Clough Jr., 41

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Charles "Buck" Fletcher Clough Jr., of Sudlersville, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in a motor vehicle accident while responding to a fire alarm. He was 41. Charles F. Clough Jr. was born May 22, 1967, in Chestertown, the son of Charles Fletcher Clough Sr. and Beulah Kincaid Clough. Mr. Clough was a 1985 graduate of Queen Anne's County High School. He worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration for 21 years. In addition to working for MSHA, Mr. Clough farmed, and also owned Clough and Son's Mowing. On Sept. 8, 1990, Buck married Sandra Bolt. Mr. Clough was the current Chief of the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Department Station 6 and a Life Member. He also held numerous positions in the company in the past including 1st Assistant Chief, 2nd Assistant Chief, 3rd Assistant Chief, Captain, Lieutenant and member of the Board of Directors. He was the pitcher of the Cougar softball team in the Caroline County League and enjoyed farming, participating in 4-H activities with his sons, and being active in the fire company. Buck also greatly enjoyed hunting with family and friends, especially rabbit hunting and running dogs with his uncle Dickie. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandra Clough of Sudlersville; two sons, Shane Clough and Chase Clough of Sudlersville,; his parents, Charles F. Clough Sr. and Beulah K. Clough of Sudlersville; one sister, Charlene Klabe and husband Glenn and their children Kole and Kendall of Sudlersville; and numerous other family members. A visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Department. Services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday also at the Sudlersville Vol. Fire Department. Interment will be private to family and Station 6 members following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 61, Sudlersville, MD 21668. Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington.

Buck was a wonderful, kind, caring man and the best friend anyone could ever have. He was a great Dad and although always busy, he always had time for anyone who needed anything. No one who knew Him will ever forget Him. Life will never be the same without Him.
