Charlotte M. Hunt

DOVER - Charlotte M. Hunt, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at KGH Bay Health Dover. She was born on March 25, 1930, the first baby born at Kent General Hospital in Dover, to the late Archie T. Mitchell and Elsa Rosengren Mitchell. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Camden since 1961, has served her church as a licensed lay reader, chalice bearer, altar guild member and delegate to annual conventions of the Episcopal Diocese. She has served CWU in Dover for many years on the executive committee. She was an member of the League of Women Voters of Greater Dover and served as president from 1966-1970. She instituted the candidate debates for the city that are still being held today. She was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Aux. for 30 years and held many titles. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Hunt, in 1981; brother, James A. Mitchell; and sister, Gertrude Ward. She is survived by son, Ray C. Hunt of Dover; sister, Ruth Lance of Dover; sister, Margaret Allen of Ohio; and many nieces & nephews. Memorial Services will be 3 p.m., September 8, 2016, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Camden. Burial will be at the Gracelawn Memorial Park, Wilmington.
