Corrine Massey Obituary
DOVER - Mrs. Corrine M. Massey peacefully transitioned to her Heavenly home on January 16, 2021, following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Massey was born in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late George and Viola E. Scrivens. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School and moved to Dover in 1955.
Mrs. Massey was employed at Kent Vo-Tech High School (now Poly Tech) and was a sales associate with J C Penney in Dover for 23 years before retiring from both. She was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church for over 60 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Charyn Scrivens of Waldorf, Md.; three grandchildren, Julian of Waldorf, Dakesha, and Nakesha of Hartford Conn., four great-grandchildren, several grandnieces, grandnephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions, in memory of Mrs. Massey, to the Rudolph W. Coleman Scholarship Fund of Mt. Zion A. M. E. Church as follows: 1). By check mailed to Mt. Corrine was a gracious, caring friendly and supportive person who never failed to reach out to those around her. I knew her when I was an instructor at Kent Vo-Tech where she was a friend to students and staff alike. I moved to northern NY, but when I ran into her at JC Penney several years later, her hugs and recollections of my family were just as warm as ever. I know that she will be greatly missed, and remembered by all who knew her. Blessings and comfort to her family and friends at this difficult time.

My Dearest Friend, I will miss your smile and especially the cards that you were so faithful in sending on Mother's Day, Easter and Christmas. I will never forget my late husband, Bob, referring to you as his "sister", he loved you so very much. Thanks for always being there for me , I will miss you. Corrine was one of the friendliest people you could find at Polytech. Always so nice and cheerful - her smile was big and genuine - it made you smile back. Everyone loved Corrine. God bless her family.

Miss Corrine was a wonderful lady. I worked with her and she always had a smile on her face and was caring. Corrine had a way of reading people and she knew when they needed a little extra pick me up or encouragement. She was a wonderfulo lady and she will be missed.
