Curtis Sharp Obituary

Curtis Rodney Sharp, Jr CEDAR NECK - Curtis Rodney Sharp, Jr. of Cedar Neck, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2010, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 88. Mr. Sharp was the only child born August 31, 1921, to the late C. Rodney Sharp, Sr. and Mollie Hellens Sharp. He lived on the same farm he lived his entire life to continue the family tradition of farming. He was especially proud of the naming of Sharp's Road, his family, his farm and his Black Angus cattle. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Rodney Sharp. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen Rothermel Sharp; three children, Patricia Sharp Davis, Gary J. Sharp and his wife Mary Sue, and Carol Sharp Murphy and her husband John; seven grandchildren, Mac & Kent Davis, Curtis, Casey & Carey Sharp, Jennifer Murphy, Molly Chorman and eight great grandchildren. A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE, where friends may call after 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cedar Neck Church, c/o Lola Knotts, 3413 McColley Rd., Milford, DE 19963.
