Dorothy Yoder Obituary
Embleton Yoder, 94
Dorothy "Dottie" Embleton Yoder passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Dottie was born at home in Harrington, Delaware on September 14, 1928 to John and Martha Embleton.
She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1946 and worked in the office of Delaware Electric Cooperative. After she married John J. Yoder in 1950, she managed their business, Blue Jay Trucking, for many years.
She was a faithful member of Laws Mennonite Church.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, John; two brothers, Jay and Merle Embleton; three sisters, Paula Embleton, Thelma Clegg and Bertha Embleton; one son-in-law, Fred Morgan; one grandson, Jonathan Hofstetter; and one great-granddaughter, Siri Hofstetter.
She is survived by her brother, Manford (Ruthie) Embleton; five daughters, all of Greenwood: Bonnie Yoder, Judi Morgan, Joan (John) Mills, Ronda (Linford) Weber, and Donna (Dale) Jones, with whom she lived; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, as well as many others who just call her their grandma.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 24, 2023 from 6:30-8:30 pm at Greenwood Mennonite Church in Greenwood, Delaware. The celebration of her life will be held at the church on Saturday, February 25, at 2 pm. Burial is private.
If you wish to make a gift in her honor, please consider Greenwood Mennonite School, or the steeple fund for Laws Mennonite Church, two places that had deep roots in her heart.
