JACK M. WIKOFF

Jack Wikoff passed away in his home in Green Valley, Ariz., on Jan. 28, 2014. He was born in Ponca City, Okla., where he lived, attended school, and as a teenager worked for Conoco Oil, originally Continental Oil and Transportation Co. He played badminton, and pingpong in high school. He served in the U.S. Army during 1945-1946, serving primarily as an administrator in Germany at the end of WWII.

He attended college on the GI Bill at Oklahoma A&M University, now Oklahoma State University. He majored in marketing, played and excelled at varsity tennis and was a member of the SAE Social Fraternity. After graduation from college he married Elizabeth Schmidt, of Lyons, Kan., who passed away in Green Valley from early onset Alzheimer's Disease in 1992. They had lived in Dayton, Ohio and Appleton, Wis.

His professional career began in the 1950s, at the very early stages of sales, marketing and distribution of carbonless copy paper (NCR Paper), and other allied paper products. He worked for the National Cash Register Co. in Dayton, Ohio, with the majority of his work creating the original distribution of NCR Paper, through both direct sales and wholesale paper merchants in the United States. He was instrumental in the onset of the Carbonless Paper industry. Beginning in the 1970s he worked for APPLETON PAPERS Inc., which has become APPVION Inc. In 1987 he retired and later moved to Green Valley.

In 1993 he met and married Janet Weston. She had just recently retired from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. They married in Green Valley. He was an avid tennis player and golfer. He had been a member of the Fox Cities Racquet Club, Butte de Morts Country Club in Appleton, Wis,, and Green Valley Racquet Club & the Desert Hills Golf Club in Green Valley. He was a life long lover of music, especially jazz.

Considering both of his marriages, Jack is survived by his wife, Janet Wikoff; his daughter and son-in-law, Janis Wikoff & Brad Rinn, grandchildren, Ben & Louis Rinn; a son, Clark Wikoff, grandchildren, Calder, Addie & Lucas Ca David, Betsy & Peirre Van der Slys, and their children Meghan and Erik, Anne & Jennifer Weston and Steve & Shari Weston.

There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
