Jacob Barndt Obituary

Jacob Tyler Barndt, 33
DOVER - Jacob Tyler Barndt passed away, Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Kent General Hospital.
Jacob was born March 31, 1988, in Dover, Delaware to John Thomas Barndt and Paula Jeanne Barndt.
He graduated with a BS Degree in Engineering Management from York College. Jacob was a manager for a local restaurant. He enjoyed skiing, hiking, back packing with his dad in the Rockies, bike riding, fishing, and shooting pool. Jacob loved soccer and football, he rooted for Chelsea FC and the Steelers. He loved the friendships he made during his time in the Dover High School Drumline. Jacob found ways to stay connected with his closest friends even when life took them all over the country. He especially loved playing FIFA with his best friend Zach and enjoyed their chats while playing. He was the very best uncle, organizing water balloon and nerf fights, hours of billiards and never-ending Monopoly games. As important as these activities were his life revolved around his son Jackson. He and Jackson spent their days together going on adventures. Many days started at Port Mahon watching the sun rise and continued with visits to Silver Lake, and biking all over Dover (or as far as Jackson's little legs would take him).
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Roy Yorns and Norma Yorns; uncle, Randy Yorns; and cousins, Drew Hittie and Matt Barndt.
Jacob is survived by his parents, John and Paula Barndt; son, Jackson Tyler Barndt and his mother, Jessica Martinski; sister, Rebeccah Benton and her husband William Benton, niece, Brianna and nephews, Elijiah and Vance; and friends, Zach Nixon, Nate Mast, Nathan Coffield and Travis Friedman; grandparents, John and Catherine Barndt; aunts and uncles, Rick and Anita Barndt, Dave and Deb Barndt, Mike and Deb Hittie, Lori and Scott Dunlap; many cousins, their spouses and children; and his beloved dog, Abbie Rose.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, Del. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to First State Animal Shelter and SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or JDRF.org
