John B. Tigner, Sr., 88
DOVER - John B. Tigner, Sr. passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at home.
He was born March 11, 1933, in Dover to the late John W. Tigner and Helen Reed.
Mr. Tigner was a lifetime member of the Leipsic Fire Company. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, and loved stock car racing, he would travel up and down the state, DelMar, Little Lincoln, and Georgetown. Was an avid go-cart fan, his family loved to travel together to all the different race events. He was a second-generation farmer, his father before him, and his son following. He was employed by many different companies over the years, Richardson Robbins, Underwood Foods, Campbell Soup, Natures Pride, and Hanover Foods just to name a few.
Mr. Tigner is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ileene Tigner of Dover; son, John Tigner and his wife Karen of Hartly; sister, Becky Dempsey and her husband Jim of Lewes; grandchild, Angie Gooden and her husband Jimmy of Viola; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Emily.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Del. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
