MILFORD - Patricia A. (Patsy) McGonigle of Milford, formerly of Brandywine Hundred, sadly passed away at home on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from a heart attack.
Patsy was born in Wilmington, Del. the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Teed. She graduated as valedictorian in 1961 from Gunning Bedford High School. Patsy began her long career with Diamond State Telephone Company and spent the last ten years as the Secretary to the President.
Patsy volunteered at Bay Health Image Center and The Friends of the Milford Library. She was a devout member of the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Patsy loved trying new recipes, and tending to her flowers. She enjoyed playing with Molly, our cockerpoo, and watching General Hospital. She loved taking trips with Mike and Molly and spent many winters in St. Augustine, Florida. Most of all she loved her family, and was the kindest, sweetest person in the world. She will be missed by so many people.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn McGonigle; and her grandson, Kyle Helmick.
Patsy is the beloved wife of Michael (Mike) McGonigle and sister to Sharon Anderson (Jimmy). Patsy was Mom to Shawn Helmick and Ted McGonigle (Donna) and she loved them dearly. She was Mom-mom to April and Brittney Ebright, Jesse Helmick, A.J., Sarah, Ally, Danni, Julia, and Brayden McGonigle. Patsy was Great Mom-mom to Maddie, Lily and Ayra. She was Aunt Patsy to Kenny Greene (Robyn), and Great Aunt to Hattie Greene.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Patsy's name to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford, DE 19963.
