Sally Moller Obituary

WOODSIDE - Sally Lou Fraser Moller was taken home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at her home in Woodside, Delaware. The cause of death was Cancer. She was born in 1942 in Rahway, N.J. Sally was the youngest of the three daughters of Viola and George Fraser. Sally is survived by her eldest sister Janet Kradjel, but was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Blake, earlier this year. Sally was involved in many activities in her youth including Girl Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Candy Striping at Rahway Hospital, and she played clarinet in the school band. She graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School, home of the Bulldogs and later earned a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. On November 1, 1964, Sally married Charles L. Moller at the Second Presbyterian Church in Rahway and they remained in matrimony through her passing. Her career began as a Practical Nurse in N.J., and continued at Kent General Hospital after her move to Delaware with her husband who was stationed at Dover Air Force Base. With the arrival of her children, Sally's career changed and she began driving a school bus for handicapped children and eventually served as a Teacher's Aid for the Intensive Learning Center in the Caesar Rodney School District Sally is survived by four children, including, her son, Charles, and his wife, Kristen, her son, Edward, and his wife, Lee, a daughter, Lisa, and her husband, Gene, and her son, John, and his girlfriend, Katherine. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Angel, TC, Charles and Mary; and one great-grandchild. Sally is also survived by six nieces and nephews, including Donna Michener, Elaine Heiserman, Howard Kradjel, Susan Smith, Raymond and David Whelan. To say that Sally had a big family is an understatement, as everyone was truly a part of her family. She accepted so many people into her home and into her life. There are literally hundreds of people who called her mom; due to her big and open heart, and years of service with 4-H, the Red Cross, the Modern Maturity Center, the YMCA, and through the Woodside United Methodist Church. She was an overwhelmingly supportive parent in just about every activity her children and grand children participated in, and could be seen at every game, meet, performance, or show (albeit often arriving just a little late.) Sally was a farm girl at heart. She loved sheep and found great joy in raising them for several years with her youngest children. Services for Sally will include a viewing from 1 to 3 p.m, and a funeral service from 3 to 4 p.m at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave; Wyoming, DE on Wednesday Jan. 2, 2013. For those wishing to further honor the memory of Sally Moller, please remember that the Delaware 4-H Foundation (122 Townsend Hall; Newark, DE 19716) and the Woodside United Methodist Church (1407 Main St; Woodside, DE 19980) are always accepting donations to continue and improve their services for the people that Sally loved.

I used to meet Sally every day in the post office when I picked up the mail on the way home from school. She was always kind and friendly. Later, she freely welcomed everyone into her home for games, caroling, and fun. She was warm and giving, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
