Terry L. Young

MILFORD - Terry L. Young passed away on Jan. 3, 2018 at Bayhealth @ Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford.
He was born Feb. 13, 1922 in Olean, N.Y., the son of the late Rome E. and Leda S. (MacDonald) Young. He grew up in Shinglehouse, Pa. He married, Faith M. Drake on May 30, 1941.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1943 to 1946.
He graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He was employed with Texaco for 42 years, during his career he moved numerous times, living in Maryland, Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Virginia, Delaware, New York, Massachusetts, London, England and New Jersey. After retiring he lived in Pennsylvania, Florida and Delaware.
He was an avid golfer.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodges in Virginia and New York, a member of First Baptist Church in Milford and teacher and member of the choir. He also volunteered at Milford Memorial Hospital and was recognized in 2016 as the oldest and, at the time, longest serving volunteer.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Faith D. Young; and daughter, Leda S. Young.
He is survived by a son, four grandchildren, a grandson-in-law, two granddaughters-in-law and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Terry's life will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Milford First Baptist Church, 6062 Old Shawnee Road, Milford.
