OKEECHOBEE - Betty Jo Fite died October 21,2021. She was born September 3,1929 in Ripley, Ohio to Carl and Vernon DeFosse.
Mrs. Fite was a member of America Legion Auxiliary of Okeechobee and Eagles of Georgetown. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards with her family and friends.
Mrs. Fite was preceded in death by her father, Carl W. DeFosse; mother, Vernon E. DeFosse; brother, Billy G. DeFosse; sisters, Margaret A. Fite and Nancy C. DeFosse; daughter, Holly D. Peyton; and sons-in-law, Terry J. Allen and Harold L. Wells.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence E. Fite; sister, Christina J. Nesbitt; children, Terry L. Allen, Peggy L. Wells, Cathy J. Owens (James M. Owens, Jr.), Kay A. Combs (Donald R. Combs), Bobby J. Fite (Monta L. Fite), and Penny W. Fite (Jerry Martin); son-in-law, Larry D. Peyton; 17 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, October 29, 2021.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Okeechobee, PO Box 1548, Okeechobee, Florida 34973.
