OKEECHOBEE - Rodney Glen Shockley died September 26, 2021. He was born August 20, 1952 in Tipton, Indiana. A lifelong resident of Okeechobee, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and playing cards. He worked for 36 years with Lykes Brothers before his retirement.
Mr. Shockley was preceded in death by his father, Glen Shockley; mother, Willie Mae Shockley; and son, Randy Shockley.
He is survived by his son, Mike Shockley (Danielle); daughter, Patty Shockley Stires, both of Okeechobee; seven grandchildren, Ashlee Shockley, Justin Shockley, Bryson Shockley, Colby Shockley, Chance Shockley, Cadee Stires, and Wyatt Stires; one great grandson, Rhett Shockley; brother, Robbi Shockley (Polly), of Okeechobee; sisters, Rita Thomas, Regina Bast (Timmy), Kay Southerland (Pat), and Brenda Schoonmaker (Dennis), all of Okeechobee; Roy A. Thomas, Jr., of Jupiter; Lisa Alderman (Richard), of Okeechobee; many nieces and nephews; and dog, Bo.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. until services at 3 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
