Joe Carter Obituary

Joe Carter, aka "BIG" Joe, 72, life long resident of Jasper, AR in Newton County, a father, cousin, uncle, and friend. Peacefully left this earth and took his final ride home on Thursday, November 11th, 2021.

Joe was born to Herbert and "Anna" Louise (Corley) Carter on February 24th, 1949 in Harrison, AR. Joe grew up in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School in 1966. Joe was an excellent and skilled auto mechanic by trade. Going to Vo-tech in Hot Springs to pursue his dreams of being an auto mechanic. He worked at Hudspeth Motors, "Smitty's" Garage and Ford Motors Company.

Memorial and celebration to honor Joe's life will be on Saturday, December 11th at the Bradley Park Stage and Pavilion from 2 PM to 4 PM in Jasper. After the memorial, processional to Cowell Cemetery for graveside service.

Joe is survived by his daughters Tina Gilmore and husband Patrick. Misty Luebke and husband Michael, and son Joseph Carter. His grandchildren Jack, Jasmyn, Esther, Meagan and Maycee. His Aunt Ruby. His life long friend Sunny Wise.

He is proceeded in death by his father and mother Herbert and Anna "Louise" (Corley) Carter, brother Michael Carter and daughter Misty Stuart all of Jasper.

"BIG" Joe was a man who colorfully wrote his own story, filling each chapter of his life to the fullest. He had a giving heart, a deep love for hot-rod muscle cars (the faster the better), he loved having a "beer" and shooting the breeze about the good ole' days with family and friends. He was feared by many, but loved by most.

Family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Cowell Cemetery in Honor of Joe Carter.
