A. DONALD IKLE

A. Donald Iklé passed away at his home in New Canaan, Connecticut on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Don was the beloved husband of Joan Kemp Iklé (deceased), father to Melissa Paolini Kay, Elizabeth Iklé Sell, and Stephen lklé; brother to Richard Iklé (deceased) and David Iklé; grandfather to Edward Iklé, Schuyler Iklé, Jack Paolini, Ryan Sell, and Timothy Sell. Don was a graduate of Manhasset High School in Long Island. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and served in the Navy. Don, as an executive recruiter, made a very successful career with Booz Allen Hamilton and Ward Howell International. In recognition of this he was inducted into the UCONN School of Business Hall of Fame in 1999. Don and his wife retired to Old Saybrook, Connecticut from Summit, New Jersey and after her death he moved to New Canaan to be closer to his family. He was an avid Yankee fan and was always active in sports, as goalkeeper for the UCONN soccer team or later in life enjoying golf, tennis, fly fishing, cycling or hiking. He loved music, painting and spending time with his family and friends. He is loved and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. Friday April 21 at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan with committal to follow on Saturday at Riverside Cemetery in Old Saybrook.
