Anthony DeSarbo
Anthony (Tony, Bud, Papa) DeSarbo, age 89, of Hamden, CT, the beloved husband of 50 years to Mary DeSarbo, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024. He was born in Hamden on May 18, 1935, the loving son of the late Frank and Elsie DeSarbo.
Anthony always liked the outdoors and vacationing with his family and friends (the Fuscos, Schenks, and Martinos). Some of his favorite places to fulfill these activities were Montauk, Long Island, NY, Sandgate, Vermont and Sedona, Arizona. Anthony kept his boat for many years at the Waucoma Yacht Club, where he made several lifelong friends.
Anthony was lucky enough to live directly between his parents and his sister/brother-in-law. This allowed him to see his niece and nephews grow up – often hollering something special out the window as they played in the yard.
Anthony was very proud of his son's many accomplishments and those of his grandchildren. He always looked forward to hearing about how each progressed with every stage of their lives. He was always slipping them a few "extra" bucks for ice cream. Anthony often battled his daughter-in-law while solving the puzzles on Wheel of Fortune. Anthony will be sadly missed by all, but will remain forever in our hearts.
His loving family, in addition to his wife, Mary, include his son, Eric Miner and his wife Darla; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Miner, Ashley Tison and her husband Theo; his sister, Ann Sadler and her husband Don; Mary's brother and sisters, William Barney and his wife Barbara, Sally Mangan and her partner Stanley, Gee Gee Strohmaier and her husband Sonny; and his nephews and nieces, Chris and Rita Sadler, Donald and Kim Sadler, Cheryl and Jason Papp.
Plans for a memorial will occur at a later date.
