Anthony Fusco Obituary

Anthony Edward Fusco
1937 -2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony Edward Fusco on November 23, 2025. Anthony, son of the late Virgilio and Rosalie Mongillo Fusco, had just celebrated his 88th birthday with his family. He is survived by his wife, Dorrine and his three children, Lorie Fusco, Mark (Tracy) Fusco, Sr. and Jason (Erin) Fusco; ten grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael) Rauch, David (Emily), Rachael, Samuel, and Zachary McCollum, Mark Jr. (Christina), Angela, Gianna, Grace and Olivia Fusco; one great-granddaughter, Sienna Fusco; brother-in-law, Richard (Janice) Halliday. He also dearly loved all his nieces and nephews, but especially, Karen Eighmy and Kevin Ford, who always provided unconditional support and love. He was predeceased by his brother, James Fusco and wife Dolores; sister, Virginia Ford and her husband William; and his grandson, Jacob McCollum.
Tony was a 30-year resident of North Haven before recently moving to Wallingford. He graduated from Hamden High School and attended Quinnipiac University for one semester until his father passed. Tony spent 40 plus years working as a grocer where he rose to the level of District Manager for Grand Union Supermarkets, ultimately overseeing all their stores in Fairfield County. It was at Grand Union where the young man nicknamed "the Fusilli" met the love of his life, Dorrine, who was working as a cashier at the Hamden store. The two were married in 1960 and spent 65 wonderful years together raising their children and enjoying time with their grandchildren (his real legacy). Tony loved spending time with Dorrine and eating home-cooked meals from the woman he thought was the best chef ever! He enjoyed coffee with his buddies a few times a week, but Tony's real passion in life was buying and selling things at "the market" and finding deals so he could spoil his grandchildren.
Tony will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with his family on Monday, December 1st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon, in the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford. Burial will be private. Yesterday

Dear Dorrine, Lorie, Mark and Jason,
My deepest condolences on the passing of Anthony.
I remember all too well the many Christmas Eve's we spent together in the early to mid 70's on Helen Street.
I will not be able to attend Monday's service however you're all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Know that he is no longer suffering. May he rest in peace.
Billy Cappella (Bill and Joan's oldest son)
