Audrey Roessler Obituary

Audrey T. Whalen Roessler
July 11, 1933 - October 21, 2025
Audrey T. Whalen Roessler, 92, of Northford, passed away on October 21, 2025, at home, surrounded by her family. Audrey was predeceased by Herbert, her husband of 62 years; he was the love of her life. She was also predeceased by her son, Matthew. She leaves behind her loving daughters, Katherine Stevens, Elizabeth Roessler (Rita Rienzo), Cynthia Roessler, and her daughter-in-law, Laura Roessler. In 1960, Audrey and Herb moved to Totoket Rd., North Branford, where she met her next-door neighbor and lifelong friend, Audrey Gallogly. The two Audreys were partners in crime as they raised their families together. Her greatest joy was her 8 grandchildren: Kayla Stevens, Katie Nichols (Tyler), Hannah, Emily, and Jacob Roessler, Sophie, and Courtney Rienzo, and Eli Roessler. They always had a special place in her heart, and they were all her favorites. She will also be missed by her loyal friend, Carol Sheffs. Audrey was born in Pawtucket, RI, on July 11, 1933, to the late Thomas and Edna Whalen. She was predeceased by her six siblings, Thomas, Robert, Douglas, Mary, Christine and Edna. She is survived by many beloved nephews and nieces. Audrey was a loving and caring mother, Nonnie, aunt, and friend, who always put her family first. Nothing gave her more pleasure than bringing the entire family and friends together to celebrate holidays and family events. Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford, on Friday, October 24, from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, at 11am at St. Augustine Church in North Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry of North Branford or to the charity of your choice. Burial services will be held privately.

My heartfelt condolences to the Roessler Family. I have so many wonderful memories of my bestie's Mom, from always welcoming me to their home, making me my favorite German dish when I came over for dinner, and just listening to us talk about our teenage lives and laughing right along with us. Such kindness and humor, her laugh made me laugh! I am honored to have known her. Thank you for all the wonderful things you did for me when we were finding our way in the world. You will never be forgotten. Much love to all her family and friends.

I met Audrey through my Cousin Carol, she was a lovely, fun person and I enjoyed her company at Carols Christmas Parties, and other events. We had a lot of laughs and I will remember her with great memories. My sincere sympathy to her Family and Friends.
